About Bueno

Over 100 years of experience

Our founders, management and board consist of people with extensive experience from banking, technology and business management. Two have backgrounds from Norwegian banks. Tom Rimestad was part of the team that launched Monobank (now Lea Bank) in Norway in 2015. However, Bueno’s vision is much larger. Bueno is becoming a one-stop shop for all things property related, simplifying buying and running property.

We believe Bueno can become one of Europe’s leading fintech companies. And as a Norwegian owned business, we will do our very best to live up to the high standards people expect from Scandinavia. Bueno Group AS, our parent company, has more than 100 shareholders, mostly Norwegians, who support our vision to simplify banking in Spain and Europe.

When we started Bueno, our goal was to offer not only better banking, but a complete solution for property owners, a one-stop shop to save you time, money and frustration. As a new foreign owner / renter, you can feel vulnerable and overwhelmed. We truly understand the importance of a helping hand when you need it. Bueno is here for you, enabling you to enjoy life even more.

We are on a mission to change property ownership in Spain, wider Europe and possibly the world. Our goal is to deliver a unique product set with premium customer service and significant savings. We aim to serve you so well and comprehensively that you may want to embrace Bueno for your primary home – wherever that may be.

A better way to bank

After living with Spanish banks for 10 years John, one of the co-founders of Bueno, felt there had to be a better way. The constant need to visit banks in person, unannounced charges, exorbitant currency fees and many other problems, caused John to feel there had to be a better way... This was the start for Bueno. John assembled a team from a diverse set of backgrounds to offer a better alternative to foreigners in Spain – and we are pleased to already be serving Spaniards too among 15 nationalities.

Given banking is a regulated activity, it took almost a year in development, but in 2022, Bueno was launched as the first Business to Consumer financial challenger in Spain with the same account functionality as Spanish banks.

Bueno has its Spanish office in Albir, just north of Alicante. It’s a beach town popular with foreigners in Spain. Our team already includes Spanish, Norwegians, Swedish, Polish, Dutch and Brits – so, just like our customers, we are from diverse European backgrounds.
